The Anti-Aging Center at Make You Well is Hiring a Medical Receptionist (Urgent Care/Family Practice) Near Torrance, CA
Position Overview:
- Position: Medical Receptionist- CONTRACT- Urgent Care/Family Practice.
- The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience as a medical assistant preferably in the family practice/urgent care setting, exudes a positive attitude, and is willing to work as a team player.
- Must have experience verifying insurance and seeking authorizations.
- Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times.
- Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include patient demographic verification, insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents.
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary information to update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
- Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts.
- Manages cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies.
- Processes walk-in patients and visitors.
- Periodic disinfection/cleaning of the lobby area.
- Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule).
- Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release, and maintains appropriate logs, etc.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Accurately calls in prescription and dispense medication based on provider’s orders.
- Follow up on lab results.
- Clean the facility from top to bottom, including waiting areas, restrooms, exam rooms, office areas, and stockrooms.
- Empty trash at the end of the shift.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to perform well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff members.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work as a team player.
